The Posts are cedar 6-inch core poles set in wet concrete with rain-shed cut tops. The rails are rough-sawn White Oak 1x6x16 inch fastened with 3-inch ring-shank nails and 5-inch ring-shank spikes through the facial boards. Our facial boards (batten boards) are reduced in size to prevent curling at the un-nailed edges; we also rain-shed the tips to avoid torn tissue in case of impact. This installation method will provide years of low maintenance and Safe Horse containment.

The Steel Board Horse Fence is highly visible with rounded, smooth edges and no nails, screws, or fasteners. The length of the rails allows them to flex for improved horse safety, and the steel rod reinforcements enhance strength. When the rails are pushed or impacted, they cushion the horse and spring back to a straight line. In the case of a stampeding and panicked horse, its energy is sufficient to cause the rails to bend, buckle, and release from the posts with no breakage or splinters.
